2014 - the year of your selfie?
‘Selfie’ was recently announced as Oxford Dictionaries’ word of the year and a visit to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram certainly reveals the trend for handheld photos of ourselves. Taking a flattering photo is an instant confidence boost, and there’s no wonder we want to show it off to the world.
As so many of our Slimming World success stories show, achieving a weight loss – whether that’s a few pounds or several stones – doesn’t just have a physical impact on our lives; the difference it has on our confidence is often immense.
In fact, many slimmers agree that increased confidence is one of the biggest benefits of losing weight – and it’s not just because they’ve become more comfortable with their appearance. Setting out to achieve their slimming goal, and doing it, has had a snowball effect on their lives…
Before losing a terrific 2st 3½lbs, Kirsty Daker used to try and blend into the background…
“I’ve finally found the weight I feel comfortable at. I feel confident and feminine. I’ve got the clothes bill to prove it! When I bought the first dress I’d worn for years, I was so excited – I texted a friend! I’m definitely more positive and ready to try new experiences. I’m so proud of my achievement – it’s given me back my self-belief.”
