Extra Easy way to lose weight
The Extra Easy plan suits me (and my big appetite) to the ground!

During my first week I tucked into three huge meals a day including a big weekend breakfast of bacon, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, eggs and toast. Whenever I was peckish I snacked on big bowls of homemade vegetable soup. To say I ate ‘non-stop’ is an understatement and I lost a fantastic 4lbs!
When I told my husband he couldn’t believe I’d lost all that as every time I sat down to eat he’d say, “Surely you can’t eat all of that?” and I’d always reply with, “Just you watch me!” The following week I lost another 3lbs to get my half stone award and Slimmer of the Week which really spurred me on!
The following week my husband and I celebrated our anniversary with a romantic Food Optimising meal. We cracked open the champagne and enjoyed an indulgent vodka chocolate mousse made with delicious raspberries (and my hubby didn’t have a clue it was ‘diet’ food!)

Shimmy and shake the pounds away
I joined Slimming World during the summer. Like many others I’ve battled with being overweight since my teens. I’ve never been slim or fallen into the 'ideal' weight range, but after two children my weight was spiralling out of control.
After seeing how well a friend was doing after joining a local Slimming World group I decided to tag along – it’s the best thing I’ve ever done!
Yes, I was sceptical about the Extra Easy plan. Was it really possible for me to lose weight when I was eating so much? The plain and simple answer is – yes – as my first week showed a 4½lbs weight loss! Now after five months I’ve lost 3st 8lbs and feel fantastic!
Slimming World offers the route into a healthy lifestyle change. Food Optimising is at the heart, but increasing my activity levels through Body Magic has speeded up my weight loss. I love doing a 20 minute Zumba workout on my Wii. Where as I used to think of a workout as being a chore, I now find it fun and actually look forward to shimmying around the living room!

Food Optimising for Marie
I’m 31 years old and have been overweight my whole life. I lost 8st on a very low calorie controlled diet a couple of years ago and ended up putting 10st back on as soon as I started eating normally again.
My friend recently joined Slimming World and he lost 8lbs in his first week! He’d been eating delicious, hearty meals like gammon and eggs and homemade burgers with chips. It certainly inspired me to give it a whirl.
I’m off for my fourth weigh in this week and I’ve lost a whopping 15½lbs, plus received my half stone award, my stone award and won Slimmer of the Week twice! I’m eating so many tasty meals and it’s teaching me to have a healthy relationship with food.
I’m so pleased with Slimming World – it’s fabulous. I still have a journey ahead but I can actually live on this ‘diet’ instead of trying to exist on others!

Slimming World benefits mums-to-be
I joined Slimming World nearly eight months ago after finding out I was expecting baby number three!

Having really struggled during my previous pregnancies with my hips and back due to my weight, I knew I needed to keep my weight gain under control this time around. I got consent from my midwife and couldn’t wait to find out more about Food Optimising and how it could benefit mums-to-be.
I’m due to give birth in just over three weeks and have gained a grand total of 4lbs! I have as much energy now as I did before, and although I do get a little pain from my back, my hips haven’t been a problem. My midwife was so impressed she’s now a Slimming World member too!
The support from group has been amazing and my Consultant is such an inspiration. I will continue my journey when my baby has arrived as I know I’ll be able to lose my baby weight and reach my target weight with ease.

Elaine’s full of energy
I joined Slimming World 13 months ago for health reasons and after a stern warning from my doctor. I had trouble breathing, walking up stairs, walking to the bus stop for work and I couldn’t even play with my grandchildren!
I tried the 7-day menus from the Food Optimising book and magazines to get me started. I lost 2-3 pounds each week and started going for short 15 minute walks – I felt so much better. Before I knew it I’d lost 10% of my body weight and was a proud member of Club 10.
When I’d lost 3 stones, I could run around the garden and chase after my grandchildren. I decided to set myself monthly targets of what I wanted to achieve. I signed up for the Race for Life as an incentive to keep losing weight, plus I had a wedding to go to and didn’t want to ‘spoil’ the wedding photos.
By the time of the wedding, I’d lost 5½ stones and felt incredible in my wedding outfit. I’m now 7½ stones lighter and have just been crowned Miss Slinky by my amazing group. I’m now bursting with energy, can run around after the grandchildren and walk eight miles a week.
