I’m 18 years old and I’ve just reached my target at Slimming World after a total loss of 4st ½lb.
I started my weight loss journey last August and got to my target on the 24 April. I feel so happy, healthy and proud of everything that I’ve achieved. I couldn’t have done it without my amazing Slimming World group and Andrea my lovely Consultant – they’ve all been fantastic!
Food Optimising is an amazing healthy eating plan that offers so much freedom and flexibility. I can still enjoy a fun social life and go out to my favourite restaurants with my friends – nothing’s off limits! My favourite recipe is homemade Slimming World chips – they’re amazing!

Family fun with Slimming World
I nervously walked into my first Slimming World group five weeks ago and was greeted with a room full of smiles.

I never believed that I could enjoy losing weight – and lose it quickly too! How wrong was I? I’m over the moon because I’ve lost 13lbs so far!
My Consultant, Jacqui is so warm, friendly and inspirational. She believes in each and every one of her members and she makes me feel that I can achieve anything – and I have!
I have two young sons and was becoming a stuck at home mam not wanting to do anything due to my weight and post natal depression. It was a vicious circle: I didn't want to go out because of my weight, but staying in made me feel even more depressed.
I’m now happier because I’m losing weight and this has impacted my sons’ lives as we’re more active and enjoy going to the park and playing silly games like jumping in puddles (my oldest loves seeing me do this as it’s never happened before).
Food Optimising isn’t like any other ‘diet’ because I can fill up on Free Food to my heart’s desire. As a family we can enjoy everyday family meals like roast dinner, jacket spuds, spaghetti Bolognese and shepherd pies. As a family we love trying new recipes and exploring with new foods and tastes.

Kate’s slimmer seventies!
Well, here I am seven weeks into Slimming World and I’m 11lbs lighter already! This summer I’m celebrating my seventieth birthday (that may be what my birth certificate says, but inside I'm still struggling to grow up!).
Losing weight has made a huge difference to my health. I have arthritis in both feet and my knees have been playing me up, but already I can feel the difference and hardly ever use my walking stick now.
I’m going to wow my daughters and grandsons at a party they're organising for me in June and I've got an ‘old girls’ school reunion in May and don't want to be the fat, jolly one they remember from school! So, here's to a thinner, more active me so I can grow old disgracefully! And, if you're an older person like me, it's never too late to get started, so join Slimming World and change your life.

Night shifts – Kev’s got it sussed!
Twenty-five weeks ago I was massively overweight. I got out of breath going up stairs and was a heart attack waiting to happen.

Then my life changed. I saw a mate at work one day in the locker room at shift change. I’d not seen him for a couple of months – I was amazed at how well he was looking and how much weight he’d lost.
When I asked him how he had done it, he told me about Slimming World.
In all honestly, I was shocked as we’re both steel workers and I presumed that Slimming World wasn’t the most ‘manly’ place – how wrong was I? I rang my local group and talked to the Consultant, Roz who invited me to come along to her group the following evening.
The night I walked through the doors of Slimming World has turned out to be one of the best days of my life. In 25 weeks I’ve lost just short of a staggering 6 stones, in fact, I’m hoping to get my 6 stone award tomorrow night.
When I first talked to Roz she put me at my ease right away. I told her I work shifts and would be eating at silly o’clock in the morning and through the night. She suggested so many snack and meal ideas to keep me satisfied through my shift. I’ve not looked back since!
I now enjoy going to the gym 4-5 times a week and I’m loving every minute of it. I started off with a size 44 waist – I’m now down to a size 36, and working towards a size 34!
I hope my story can help other guys to bite the bullet and go along to a group. It worked for me and it can work for you. Slimming World has changed my life and I do believe that it’s saved my life, too!

Debbie’s delighted with her healthy new lifestyle!
After a long illness and a year off work I gained nearly 4 stones. I comfort ate and got into bad eating habits, plus I felt miserable and tired all the time.
A good friend recommended I joined Slimming World and my first thought was ‘Oh no not a slimming club!’ My friend told me she was never hungry and could eat all the nice things she wanted. Of course I was a bit sceptical but I thought I’d give it a shot.
I received a warm and friendly welcome from my Consultant and all the other members. It seemed like a fun place to come once a week with discussions about recipes, menus and exercise. What amazed me the most is the amount of Free Food I can eat including bacon, lean meats, pasta, potatoes and lots of lovely fruit and vegetables. Best of all, I can still enjoy my chocolate and crisps – nothing’s off limits!
I’m really excited to be starting a healthy new lifestyle. After all, it’s not a diet but a healthier approach to eating and shopping. I’m also enjoying discovering new recipes to feed my family and I now really look forward to meal times.
So a big thank you to Slimming World for getting me back on track.
