At Slimming World we are dedicated to protecting your privacy. Below we set out our privacy policy which will govern the way in which we process any personal information that you provide to us. We will notify you if the way in which we process your information is to change at any time.

personal information and how it is used

To provide the Nearest Group service we ask for your name, e-mail address and postcode. This enables us to contact you with your 10 closest Slimming World groups.

The members’ area of the Slimming World website requests the following personal information: first name, surname, e-mail address, group, consultant name, joining date, start weight, current weight. This information, and any personal information received thereafter, is used for the purpose of verifying membership of a Slimming World group and to personalise your experience within the members’ area.

As required by the UK Data Protection Act 1998, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access. You may ask us whether we are storing personal information about you by emailing us at privacy@slimming-world.com and, if you wish and upon payment of a fee of £10, we will provide you with a copy of the personal data we hold about you by email. We may ask for proof of your identity before providing any information and reserve the right to refuse to provide information requested if identity is not established.

We will use your information for the purpose informing you of special offers and providing other marketing information to you which we think you may find of interest. If you would rather not receive this information, you may opt out by e-mailing unsubscribe@slimming-world.com

To ensure we are publishing content users need and want, the Slimming World website collects site-visitation statistics using http header information. We only use this information in aggregated form and only use site-visitation and usage statistics for improving the site.

At Slimming World we understand the value of security and have implemented security policies, rules and technical measures to protect the personal data that we have under our control from unauthorised access, improper use and disclosure, unauthorised destruction or accidental loss.

When you place an order our secure server ensures all details are encrypted before they are sent to us. Payment processing, using the DataCash Payment Gateway, takes place on our secure server. All personal details are stored on a server which is not directly connected to the internet. Your credit/debit card details are not stored by us.

We cannot guarantee the effectiveness of such measures and exclude liability in the event of loss of data.

In the unlikely event that a liquidator, administrator or receiver is appointed over us or all or any part of our assets that insolvency practitioner may transfer your information to a third party purchaser of the business provided that purchaser undertakes to use your information for the same purposes as set out in this policy. We undertake not to provide your personal information to third parties save in accordance with this policy. Your information will not be disclosed to government or local authorities or other government institutions save as required by law or other binding regulations.

When visiting certain areas of the site, a cookie may be placed on your machine or read if you have visited the site previously. We do not use this technology to access any personally identifiable information; it is a tool we use to improve the functionality of the Slimming World website.
