Melon balls bursting with freshness are drizzled with a delicately spiced syrup in this simple dish.
- First, make the syrup. In a small saucepan, stir together the sugar substitute, orange zest, cardamom seeds, cinnamon stick and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer gently for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, use a melon baller to make balls from the melons and watermelon and divide them among six bowls. (If you don’t have a melon baller, you can dice the fruit.)
- Remove the syrup from the heat, discard the cinnamon stick and allow the syrup to cool slightly. Spoon the syrup over the fruit and serve each with a dollop of yogurt.
